Indian Land Community Church

ALL about ilcc

It is our dream that every man, woman, and child have multiple opportunities to experience and be transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ, without having to come or go anywhere. The way this happens is by engaging the community through relationships; collectively maturing in our faith, trust, and understanding of who Jesus Christ is; and embracing and executing the Great Commission and the Great Commandment.

  • We believe in the One True God who exists in the eternal Holy Trinity (three unique "persons") of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God was not created and will never die or cease to exist

  • We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who left the Father's side to walk among creation as a sinless person (fully human and fully deity) to show God's love and be killed, buried, and then brought back to life after three days, making the only way for humanity to be reconciled with God
  • We believe Jesus Christ is the Messiah and the Savior who is revealed through the ancient texts that have collectively become known as the Bible

Holy Spirit:

  • We believe the Holy Spirit indwells the Christian transforming them into a new creation through the transforming work of sanctification (Person working in concert with God to turn from sin)
  • We believe each person who is Saved will exhibit the Fruit of the Spirit and Spiritual Gifts to be utilized by God for revealing His love, edifying His people, caring for those in need, and expanding His eternal Kingdom

  • We believe that salvation is by God's grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone
  • We believe that once a person is truly saved they are always saved and nothing can separate them from the love and care of God for all eternity

We believe the Bible is the Holy Spirit inspired, drafted by humans, inerrant, and infallible collection of historical writings that reveal:

  • The identity and character of the One True God
  • His story of faithfulness to and love for His creation in spite of various flaws and rebellion
  • Prophecies that speak to a promised Savior who makes it possible for humanity to be wholly forgiven and reconciled with God
  • His final act of sending Jesus Christ, who fulfilled all of the prophecies about His coming, to walk with humanity to teach and reveal God's love and desire for reconciliation
  • Testimonies of eye-witnesses who walked with Jesus during His earthly ministry before and after His crucifixion and resurrection from the dead
  • Wisdom, insight, and encouragement to navigate daily living when personally applied

The Church:

  • We believe the Church is made up of believers (people who are followers of Jesus Christ) from every walk of life regardless of ethnicity, social status, or geographical location
  • We believe the Church should regularly meet to encourage one another, to worship God collectively, and intentionally move together in a growing relationship with Jesus
  • We believe the Church is called to and responsible for sharing the Gospel by engaging the community through relationships so that every man, woman, and child has the opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel without having to come or go anywhere

  • We believe God has put a call and vision in the heart, mind, and soul of those whom He has appointed to be shepherds, elders, and overseers of His people
  • We prayerfully support the leaders God has appointed and encourage them as they prayerfully seek to follow and honor Him through this ministry

Pastor Shannon, Heather, Clara, and Katie

Rev. Shannon, Heather, Clara, and Katie Brown

Shannon Brown is the lead pastor of ILCC. He grew up in the upstate of SC and is a die hard Clemson fan. He was called to ministry as a teenager and began working in student ministry. While in student ministry, he started organizing youth rallies and concert events. The Lord used this experience to open an opportunity to move to Nashville and work on the business side of the music industry. Before moving to Nashville, he met Heather and the two fell hopelessly in love. They married and moved to TN to start their life together. After about 20 years of working with Christian, pop, and country acts God called him out of the music industry and back into traditional church ministry. Other than student ministry, he has served as a Small Group Pastor and Associate Pastor since leaving the music business. The Lord has guided Shannon and Heather into church planting and as a result they are starting Indian Land Community Church. Shannon has his Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Studies and Ministry from LeTourneau University and Master's from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Heather Brown was born in NC and grew up in Valdosta GA. She holds a BA in Psychology from Valdosta State University. Her calling is focused in the marketplace where she is an executive with Ross Dress for Less stores. Throughout her career, God has allowed her to impact the lives of so many people who may not have set foot inside a church or other Christian organization. She knows that her job is her ministry and utilizes every opportunity to show the love of Christ to all God puts in her path. Heather is passionate about small group ministry and has experienced the impact it has on people. When life is lived in relationship, people can be real with each other and face life struggles with support from a loving community. Heather is excited to see what God does next!
